I know that a lot of "right-leaners" out there are probably shocked that I will be voting no on Initiated Measure 11 - the South Dakota Abortion Ban.

Generally speaking, this tends to be a "party" issue, even when it really has nothing to do with party politics. I am a "pro-choice" Republican and I think there are quite a few of us out there.

Want to know why I'm not supportive of banning abortion? Because I think this is private and personal. Do I necessarily support abortion? No. But, I also don't think that I have any right to tell any other person what he or she should do in any given situation.

As a Republican I am against BIG Government and I'm against Government Intrusion into the personal matters of people. That's exactly what Initatied Measure is.

Check it out for yourself. The Campaign for Healthy Families launched it's second TV spot this week... it's pretty good. And... there's also a great new website that picks apart the measure so you, too, can see it's flaws.
